Guntopia's Solution for a Safer and Efficient Gun Marketplace
Guntopia uses closed bidding between the seller and bidders. With closed bidding, sellers
cannot manipulate the price by using straw bidders. Another benefit, bidders
don't have the pressure of bidding up the price in a herd mentality. The benefit to
sellers (Negotiate-the-Price) is that they get to see all the bids coming in privately
and are able to determine the level of interest for that item and negotiate accordingly.
Sellers get to play the field for the best price.
Another distinction of Guntopia's service
is that bidders bid the price down with closed bidding as opposed to gun auctions where bidders
bid the price up with open bids. Guntopia has a unique message board, which allows members to
communicate questions and answers with each other. Communications are posted for public viewing, which reduces repeat questions to the seller. Guntopia makes available to members a Feedback
System to review each member's past business dealings on Guntopia. There are many benefits and
features for Sellers and Bidders
on Guntopia.
Guntopia provides limited-funds handling to the buyer with Secure Payment Handling (SPH)
for an additional fee to the buyer. Fraudulent sellers cannot make quick money and run off and
hide from the buyer with SPH. The seller will not receive sales proceeds until the buyer has
inspected the firearms at the FFLdealerNet™ during delivery and processing. This makes
the sales of higher priced firearms more likely and secure for the buyer and seller.
On SPH transactions, the buyer's credit card information is collected from the buyer and held
strictly confidential by Guntopia during the purchasing or bidding process. NOTHING is charged
unless the buyer is successful in the purchase or the bidding. Sellers benefit because they know
that the purchase (Firm Price), or the bids (Negotiate-the-Price) are backed by the
buyer's credit card information and should the seller accept, the deal is processed for payment
immediately by Guntopia with the funds held in safekeeping. No more arguing about who pays or ships first.
To assist our members during firearm transfers, Guntopia makes available the FFLdealerNet™ Network of
FFL dealers nationwide to properly handle transfers of firearms purchased through Guntopia.
