My Guntopia Account – General Information

Every registered member gets an account called "My Guntopia". The My Guntopia account serves three main purposes. First – This is where you conduct your price negotiations and trading business. Second – The results and summary of all your transactions are reported here. Third – This is where you do the housekeeping. Such as:

  • Edit changes to your registration information for individuals, FFL Holders, and FFLdealerNet™ Network Dealers. This is also where you can change your password.

  • On completed deals with Secure Payment Handling, the Buyer and Seller are required to complete tracking information as each step of the process is completed. This tracking information is available to all parties for viewing. For example, when a sale is closed and if the check method is used, the Buyer reports after they have sent the balance of the funds due to Guntopia. Or, when the Seller ships the firearm, they share this information with everyone by updating the system. A complete record is viewable at the Transaction Journal. During the closing process, emails are sent to the respective parties with instruction on how to update each event.

  • The My Guntopia page allows each member to customize which bid items are kept on the main screen and which are moved to the archive.

  • Renew and Extend ad listing. Update your ad listing with optional promotional ad listing services.

  • Make changes to your ad listings.

Tips on Selling

  1. Red Star – Items that have received a counter-bid from the Seller will have a rotating red star in front of them to draw attention.
  2. Headliner – This is taken directly from the ad listing and is used to help identify the ad and bid. Clicking on the blue link will display a summary of the ad listing.
  3. Bid on – The date shown is the date and time the bidder submitted the bid.
  4. Expire In – This is the amount of time the bid remains valid for the Seller (or Buyer in the case of a counter-bid by Seller) to haggle, accept or reject the bid.
  5. Bid Price – This is the latest amount submitted to the other party for their consideration.
  6. Quantity – This is the quantity the bid is for.
  7. Bid Status – This status will change depending upon the action of the Seller and subsequent actions of the Bidder. Currently is shows "Posted" which means the bid as been submitted/posted for the Seller's consideration. If the Seller should engage the Bidder in haggling, then this "Bid Status" displays "Seller Counter". If the deal is successful and the full amount is paid, then it will show a "Paid in full" status. Click on "Status" in the heading to bring up a complete list over possible status codes and what they mean.
  8. Select Action – The "Action" is a hyperlink, which when the cursor is moved over it will display a drop down menu of options. Click on "Select Action" in the heading to bring up a list over possible actions and what they mean.
  9. Bid Archive – The current page shows bid activity, which is less than seven days old. Thereafter the activity is moved to the Archive for storage. The owner of the account may change the number of days that the bid is kept on the main page before it is moved to the Archive.
